Professional Grade Dry Powder Protection in a Compact Can
When a fire starts, a quick response is required. The FireShield ABC Dry Powder Aerosol takes the guesswork out of emergency situations, being the ultimate "grab-and-go" firefighting tool.
Fire needs three elements to burn: oxygen, heat, and fuel. The high-performance ABC powder in this extinguisher works instantly to cut off the oxygen supply completely while simultaneously acting to cool down hot surfaces, preventing re-ignition. Whether for domestic or leisure applications, this dry powder fire extinguisher is the versatile defense you need, making it a true all-in-one portable fire extinguisher solution for mixed fire risks.
Features & Benefits
Total "ABC" Powder Versatility
This multi-purpose extinguisher effectively tackles Class A (wood, paper, textiles), Class B (flammable liquids like petrol and paint), and Class C (flammable gases) fires.
Electrical Safety
Safe to use on electrical fires involving live electrical equipment (up to 1000V), protecting you from shock hazards while suppressing flames on appliances or vehicle wiring.
Immediate Suppression
The ABC powder forms a thick barrier that smothers the fire almost instantly. This rapid "knock-down" capability is essential for stopping small fires before they spread to surrounding areas.
Corrosion-Resistant Design
Just like its larger counterparts, this aerosol features a high-quality finish designed to resist corrosion. This makes it ideal for storage in potentially damp environments like boats, garage workshops, and outdoor storage lockers.
Easy Operation
The intuitive aerosol spray mechanism is easy to use — simply point and spray. In a high-stress emergency, anyone, regardless of physical strength or training, can instinctively operate it immediately.
Zero Maintenance Required
Factory-sealed aerosol pressure with a 5-year warranty. Unlike traditional steel extinguishers that require annual servicing by an engineer, this unit saves you money and hassle.
Mounting Bracket Included
Comes complete with a secure plastic bracket that keeps the extinguisher safe, secure, and right where you need it—preventing it from rolling around in your vehicle boot or getting lost under the sink.
Environmentally Conscious
PFAS-free, this product provides effective fire suppression without the use of harmful "forever chemicals," making it a responsible choice for your home and the planet.
Important Safety Information
-
Enclosed Spaces: While highly effective, dry powder agents can reduce visibility and may cause respiratory irritation if inhaled. If used in a very small, confined space (such as inside a small caravan or shed), ensure you ventilate the area immediately after the fire is extinguished and you have evacuated to safety.
-
Cleanup: The powder is non-toxic but can be messy; it can be vacuumed or wiped away with a damp cloth after use.

Dry Powder Fire Extinguisher FAQs
What types of fire can I use this FireShield ABC fire extinguisher extinguisher on?
This is a multi-purpose "ABC" extinguisher. It is effective on:
-
Class A: Combustible materials like wood, paper, cardboard, and textiles.
-
Class B: Flammable liquids such as petrol, diesel, paints, and solvents.
-
Class C: Flammable gases (e.g., butane, propane).
Foam fire extinguishers should only be used for Class A & B fires, whereas dry foam is suitable for burning solids, liquids and gases (class A, B and C fires).
Can this extinguisher be used for electrical fires?
This product is non-conductive and therefore safe to use on fires involving live electrical equipment (e.g. fuse boxes, computers, car wiring).
Can I use this on a deep fat fryer or chip pan fire?
No. You should never use a dry powder extinguisher on cooking oil or fat fires (Class F). The high pressure can splash the burning oil and spread the fire. For kitchen fat fires, we recommend using a Fire Blanket or a Wet Chemical extinguisher.
Does this dry powder fire extinguisher require annual servicing?
No. Unlike traditional steel extinguishers that require a yearly check by an engineer, this FireShield aerosol unit is factory-sealed and maintenance-free. You simply need to visually check that the unit is not damaged and is within its 5-year expiry date.
Is it suitable for cars, campervans, and boats?
Yes, absolutely. Its lightweight aluminium body is corrosion-resistant, and it functions in temperatures ranging from -20°C to +55°C. The included bracket makes it easy to mount securely in a boot, cabin, or under a seat so it doesn't roll around.
How do I operate ABC dry powder extinguishers?
It is designed for ease of use in an emergency situation and operates very much like a standard aerosol can (e.g. hairspray or deodorant). Simply remove the cap, point the nozzle at the base of the fire, and press the top button to discharge the powder to suppress fires.
What is the shelf life of these types of ABC powder fire extinguishers?
The FireShield aerosol extinguisher comes with a 5-year warranty from the date of manufacture. After 5 years, the unit should be safely disposed of and replaced to ensure you are fully protected.
Is the ABC powder toxic or messy?
The ABC powder is non-toxic and harmless to humans and pets, though it can be irritating to the throat if inhaled in large quantities or used in confined spaces. It does create a mess when discharged (a fine dust), but this can be easily vacuumed up or wiped away with a damp cloth once the fire is out.
Does it contain harmful chemicals?
No, this product is PFAS-free, meaning it does not use the harmful "forever chemicals" often found in some other older fire extinguisher types.
